This week we had the pleasure of asking Amanda a few questions on her journey starting WOLFE.CO:

Tell us about your business:

WOLFE CO. is an online community and academy for creative entrepreneurs to learn how to build and market their brands. All courses are created, taught and led by fellow entrepreneurs, influencers and creatives and focus on new and digital media content.

What made you decide to become a business owner?

I’ve had the entrepreneurial spirit since I was a kid, but this time around I decided it was finally time to take the leap. Go all in and create my business while I had the time. I have been in marketing for over 10 years, ended up getting “asked to leave” the last company I worked for, and just went for it!

When you were making your business official, what did you tackle first?

For me, it was verbalizing the brand name and then putting together my brand assets. I really should have registered the business a year ago, but it always gave me anxiety thinking about logging onto the Ontario website, trying to decipher their not so easy to understand verbiage. So, I would just put it off.

What has been your biggest success or earliest win in running your business thus far?

Securing some large consulting contracts with Toronto businesses.

What has been your biggest challenge in running your business thus far?

Scaling. Not enough hours in the day, so I’ll be focused on building the team this year.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I guess it’s cliche to say no two days are the same, but what is consistent is that I don’t stop working, lol. From 5AM – 8PM I am working or running around meeting with people.

Was there anything you wish you knew before launching your business?
How to officially set it up! Wish there was a proper checklist on all the things you need to do to be legit; listing, registration, bookkeeping, etc.

Are there any tips you would like to share with other business owners?

Be resourceful. Don’t stop learning and try to learn all the areas of your business at the beginning. When you do eventually hire a team, you’ll be a better leader by understanding how you can improve their pain points.

Where can people find your business?
