I help small businesses and <a href="\&quot;https:\/\/www.ownr.co\/blog\/what-is-entrepreneurship\/\&quot;">entrepreneurs<\/a> amplify their brands through content and <a href="\&quot;https:\/\/www.ownr.co\/blog\/how-to-amplify-your-business-on-social-media\/\&quot;">social media marketing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><b>What made you decide to start a social media business?<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>I\u2019ve always wanted to be an entrepreneur. Both my parents (and even my grandparents) owned their own businesses so you could say it runs in the family. However, I decided to make the leap after about a year of working full-time and doing some social media marketing and <a href="\&quot;https:\/\/www.ownr.co\/blog\/freelance-writing\/\&quot;">freelance writing<\/a> work on the side. Once I built up a small but solid client base, I knew it was <a href="\&quot;https:\/\/www.ownr.co\/blog\/what-to-ask-before-turning-your-part-time-gig-into-a-9-to-5\/\&quot;">time to turn my side hustle into a full-fledged business<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>What has been your biggest challenge in running your social media agency thus far?<\/h2>\n<p>I\u2019m relatively new to the entrepreneur life but so far, my biggest challenge has been time management. Having the flexibility to set your own hours also means you need to have the discipline to stick to them so you don\u2019t end up working all day and all night (or not working enough). Still working on this one!<\/p>\n<h2>When you were making your business official. What did you tackle first?<\/h2>\n<p>My finances. As a business owner, you need to regularly track your <a href="\&quot;https:\/\/www.ownr.co\/blog\/invoicing-basics-for-small-business-owners\/\&quot;">invoices<\/a>, receipts, <a href="\&quot;https:\/\/www.ownr.co\/blog\/cash-flow-management-guide\/\&quot;">cash flow<\/a>, etc. Making sure I had proper accounting software in place so I could ditch my Word Doc templates and streamline my <a href="\&quot;https:\/\/www.ownr.co\/blog\/accounting-bookkeeping-whats-the-difference-and-why-do-i-need-them\/\&quot;">bookkeeping<\/a> was huge.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Do you have any tips you would like to share with other curious entrepreneurs?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Find a mentor! Especially if you\u2019re a \u2018solopreneur\u2019 like myself.
